Aircraft
Aircraft differ in cargo slots and rated payload. Slots are a hard limit: an aircraft needs one free slot per crate. The rated payload is not enforced. Internally loaded crates add their real weight in DCS, so loading beyond the rating costs take-off, hover and climb performance instead of being refused. Slingload weight is handled through the cargo hook. Fuel, weapons, terrain and weather still affect whether the resulting aircraft is safe to fly.
- Spawn max payload in the Storage menu takes out only as many crates as stay within the rated payload.
- Spawn max free slots fills every free slot, even beyond the rating.
| Aircraft | Slots | Rated payload |
|---|---|---|
| SA342 Gazelle variants | 1 | 510 kg |
| UH-1H | 2 | 1,010 kg |
| Mi-8MT / Mi-8MTV2 | 4 | 4,010 kg |
| Mi-24P / Mi-24V | 1 | 1,010 kg |
| CH-47F | 6 | 6,010 kg |
| UH-60L | 4 | 3,610 kg |
| Ka-50 / Ka-50 III | 1 | 130 kg |
| AH-64D | 1 | 130 kg |
| OH-6A / OH-58D | 1 | 130 kg |
| C-130J-30 | 24 | 21,500 kg |
A Workshop upgrade adds slots to the UH-1H, Mi-8, UH-60L and CH-47. Unlike the base slots, the extra slots only take a load that stays within the rated payload.
Some airframes also have Tycoon-specific roles. A UH-1H Food delivery gives the receiving Settlement a ten-minute Trust-recovery boost; later Huey deliveries refresh rather than stack that timer. The Flight Academy improves existing airframe perks. The Gazelle receives a wider and slightly longer-range A/N course during rumor searches.
C-130J-30
The C-130J-30 is the only airplane that carries Tycoon cargo. It cannot land on a helipad, so it works cargo by distance instead:
| Site | Take cargo out of Storage | Deliver |
|---|---|---|
| Airfield | Within 500 m of the Tycoon tent | Within 500 m of the Tycoon tent |
| Source, Factory, Hub, City | Within 80 m of the pad | Within 80 m of the pad |
Park beside the pad and everything works from there: taking cargo out of Storage, loading, and unloading a delivery. At an airfield the crates are set down behind the aircraft, clear of its wings; at a pad they are placed around the pad, exactly as they are for a helicopter.
Cargo > Load nearby reaches 80 m around the aircraft and a pad crate can sit on the far side of the pad, so parking within roughly 55 m keeps every crate at the pad within reach of the cargo bay.
Heavy cargo reaches the rated payload before the last slot: 21 Industrial Parts crates already weigh 21,000 kg.
The Live Map or cargo menu is authoritative if a configured capacity differs from this reference.
