 ====== Restarts ====== ====== Restarts ======

-The Torque Tycoon server restarts every four hours at **00:00, 04:00, 08:00, 12:00, 16:00 and 20:00 server time**. A restart normally takes about ten minutes. Warnings appear 30, 15, 5 and 1 minutes before shutdown; ''-timeleft'' in DCS chat shows the current countdown.+A **restart** puts the Torque Tycoon server into a fresh mission every four hours, at **00:00, 04:00, 08:00, 12:00, 16:00 and 20:00 server time (UTC +2)**. A restart normally takes about ten minutes. Warnings appear 30, 15, 5 and 1 minutes before shutdown; ''-timeleft'' in DCS chat shows the current countdown. A pilot who joins the server reads the time to the next restart a few seconds after the welcome message.

 +===== Crates on the Ground =====
 +
 +A crate left lying on the ground survives **one** restart. That covers every crate not in an aircraft and not yet delivered: cargo set down with **Drop loaded** and not yet delivered or stored, Food refused by a full Settlement, project cargo a Settlement did not need, crates refused by a full airfield storage and crates dropped at a crash site. Unload just before the shutdown and the crates are waiting where you left them after the restart. A crate that is still on the ground at the restart after that is lost. Stored crates are not on the ground and do not expire.
 +
 +The allowance belongs to the crate, not to the place it lies: picking a crate up and setting it down again does not renew it. Only the scheduled restarts above count; an unplanned restart after a server crash does not.

 Each restart advances the in-game date by one day. The resulting season, day length and historical weather are described on the Weather page. Each restart advances the in-game date by one day. The resulting season, day length and historical weather are described on the Weather page.
